A fatigued LAFC side was thoroughly outplayed at home as the Houston Dynamo came to town and took care of business against a struggling Los Angeles team.
Match Report | May 10, 2026 | Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles entered this match looking to bounce back after a heavy defeat against Toluca in the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinals and a league draw against San Diego FC the previous week.
What began as a slow-paced match, with LAFC dominating possession, quickly took a turn when Houston found the back of the net on its first shot attempt of the game. In the 25th minute, Dynamo forward Jack McGlynn fired a spectacular left-footed shot to give Houston the lead.

Nine minutes later, a free kick from Guilherme Augusto doubled the Dynamo’s advantage, putting LAFC in a 2–0 hole.

LAFC forward Nathan Ordaz helped the home side cut the deficit to one goal, but Los Angeles was unable to carry that momentum into the second half.
A former LAFC midfielder extended Houston’s lead to 3–1 in the 51st minute. Just four minutes later, McGlynn struck again, scoring his second goal of the match and sealing LAFC’s fate for the night.
Despite dominating possession throughout the match, LAFC struggled to turn that control into results. With a demanding schedule and little time to recover between games, fatigue appeared to play a significant role in the team’s performance.
Having played its third match in less than a week, LAFC will look to regroup and secure three more wins before the World Cup break.
Houston, meanwhile, entered the match having scored just 13 goals on the season, the third-fewest in the Western Conference. The Dynamo finished the night with a season-high four goals in a single game, delivering an emphatic performance against an LAFC side searching for answers.
